Thermowood decking
The most popular thermowood decking boards are made from thermo pine and thermo ash (hardwood). Thermally preserved wood is environmentally friendly, practical and beautiful. Heat treatment is a computer-controlled process carried out in a special kiln at high temperatures. Eco-friendly process with only steam and heat results in increased stability and durability, extending the lifetime of the wood. The durability of thermo wood decking boards offers an environmentally friendly alternative to tropical hardwoods.
Thermo ash decking
American ash (Fraxinus americana) after heat treatment displays a rich dark color and attractive grain. The appearance of thermowood ash terrace boards is similar to the tropical wood, since it is with a very few knots. Thermo ash hardwood decking is natural, aesthetic and durable (durability class 1).

Thermo pine decking
Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) is well suited for thermo treatment and looks very luxurious after the process. Due to the price of the product, thermowood pine decking boards are much more used compared to thermo ash terrace boards. Decking and cladding are made from thermo treated pine.

Weathering
Without coating, even thermally modified wood will eventually turn silver-grey, although the material will retain its weather-resistant properties. It is possible to preserve the color by coating with UV-protection oil or paint. Oil or paint coating will help to retain the dark rich colors within the boards. This delays the silvering process that strong sunlight causes in all timber products.
Thermowood decking material is sourced responsibly and harvested from approved American and European forests. Timber class is Thermo-D (class D is wood with improved durability.)
